Boulders are made for the reproduction of music exactly as it was performed and recorded. Boulder electronics are transparent, accurate, fast, rugged and reliable with minimal distortion and noise and absolutely no coloration or “sound” of their own.

Audio Research products are all made by hand in our Plymouth, Minnesota facility. Connections are hand-soldered, not press-fit nor wave-soldered. All metalwork, boards, transformers and major parts are American-made and sourced locally. We take a great deal of pride in our workmanship, and so will you. You’ll certainly hear the difference.
Ultra-pure iron square plate formers were sourced for their most predictable magnetic characteristics and lowest oxidation. Pre-aged to the perfect consistency, rubber suspension parts are sourced under license with a rubber damper manufacturer. Special magnetic materials, including Alnico have been featured. Today, samarium-coblalt is used with platinum magnets reserved for the flagship models. Japanese craftsmen carve the rosewood bodies, lacquer coat the Urushi bodies, or cut stone for the onyx Platinum. Styli are specially designed and precision ground for Koetsu.
