The Scandinavian design is internationally recognized for its minimalism, purity, timelessness and functionality. Solid Tech carries this vital tradition with its affinity for values and form in our range of audio support products.

Solid Tech designs audio support system that are a total concept, encompassing aesthetics, flexibility and performance as well as high quality craftsmanship. With fastidious attention to detail, performance and finish, their systems are created to have a minimum of compromises. They utilize the best components and building technique.

The Swedish tool making engineer, and audiophile, Björn Ohlson started experimenting with different suspension platforms for his audio equipment. Ohlson came to realization that most commercially available products did alter the sound in one way or another, but they seldom enhanced the full frequency spectrum.

The reception of the product was nothing less than phenomenal. The visitors at international Hi-fi shows as well as media praised the product for its functionality, flexibility and excellent craftsmanship.

The Scandinavian Hi-fi press that tested Solid Tech against the leading rack manufacturers and found that the Solid tech platforms and racks proved to be superior in vibration isolation, and build quality.

Cradel of Silence Rack of Silence Feet of Silence

The Cradle of Silence isolations cables and interconnects to make a real improvement in the sound of your system. By isolating the cables from vibrations, static electricity and moisture, the enhancement is a considerably lower noise floor and increased dynamics. The Cradle of Silence also eliminates the risk of static discharge. To enhance without compromising, the base of the Cradle of Silence is made of high-gloss polished Corian, one of the least resonant materials available today - but unfortunately one of the most expensive.

The suspension consists of purpose moulded age resistant O-rings which provide an extremely effective isolation from ground borne vibrations. The width of the suspension (60mm) is wide enough to accommodate most bi-wired systems.

How many Cradles does a system need? It depends on the length and the stiffness of the cable. In order to reach peak performance it is necessary to lift the entire cable by at least an inch off the floor.

It is widely accepted that resonance control is essential in order to eliminate spectral contamination distortion. Resonating support systems cause coloration, emphasizing some frequencies and reducing others.

Most of the materials used in the conventional racks and support systems have unacceptable drawbacks and are not suitable for high-end usage. Very few structural materials deal efficiently with the requirements of both rigidity and dampening.

Solid Tech introduces Rack of Silence, a new audiophile rack combining innovative resonance controlling technology, with elegant design features and unmatched flexibility. Supports equipment with a width of 535mm to be placed on each shelf.

To achieve even greater isolation one can equip the shelves with free-floating suspension. These suspended shelves are totally isolated in both horizontal and vertical planes.

The extruded aluminium pillars can be sand filled. The end pieces are made of hardwood with a steelball installed at the tip. This design resolves the problem normally associated with spikes.

Any audio configuration can be positioned in Rack of Silence. There are no restraints. The unlimited level positioning of adjustable shelves provides efficient space management.

Rack of Silence is also available as a Mono amp stand, both fixed and suspended versions. Basic shelves support 40kg (88lbs.) and the Heavy Duty shelves support 80 kg (176 lbs.)

Feet of Silence can be used as an option on both the fixed and the suspended shelves for further isolation and performance improvement.

Rack of Silence is available in stainded cherry or black lacquer finish. The wood trims are made of Beechwood (hardwood). Three pillar heights are available: 300, 600 and 900mm.

The Feet of Silence system has been designed with the objective of affording today's Audio/Video systems the optimal working environment they need in order to deliver the realism and musicality which combine to make listening a truly High-End experience.

Experience shows that today's Audio/Video systems have been so highly developed that serious attention must be paid to the influence of external as well as internal vibrations and resonances. These adulterating disturbances will degrade the Audio/Video capabilities as long as the equipment is not properly isolated and checked.

Feet of Silence is a vibration control system which is particularly effective in isolating the components from horizontal as well as vertical vibrations evolving externally - plus subduing internal vibrations. The free placement possibilities mean that the resonances emitted from the component's chassis can be tuned to a higher and more advantageous requency.

The Feet of Silence system consists of a cylindrically formed base, suspension attachments and the suspension itself, vibration absorber, absorbent and a steel ball for mechanical coupling to the components. All the details of the design have a critical function, which contribute to Feet of Silence's total performance. The Base consists of an aluminium-cylinder with three mechanical rigidly mounted attachments for the suspension.

The chosen material of aluminium and the cylindrical form contribute to a rigidity, which reduces the amplitude of the vibrations. The bottom of the base has three contact surfaces to achieve a rigid coupling to the supporting shelf.

The Suspension consists of purpose moulded age resistant O-rings. The suspension action and freedom of movement in both the vertical and horizontal planes provide an extremely effective isolation of the vibration absorber from externally generated vibrations.

The Vibration Absorber, which is effectively isolated from external vibrations, has as its function the absorption of a wide range of internally generated vibrations and is consequently filled with an absorbent, which converts this energy to heat through friction within the body. The extremely effective isolation of the vibration absorber and its rigidity due to its small physical size means that it has great immunity against airborne vibrations compared, for example, to a isolated shelf unit or platform.

The Ball on top of the vibration absorber is fixed by viscous-elastic glue to the absorbent and functions as a conveyor of the internal vibrations to the absorbent. The ball form has been picked because its uniformity has only one single resonant frequency and therefore will not emit other unwanted resonances - plus giving a good mechanical coupling to the supported component.

Pure technology - No voodoo. Feet of Silence come in two styles: black anodized bases with high gloss polish attachments; or totally in the high gloss finish. Feet of Silence is available in two different O-ring thicknesses: either to support 5-15 kg or 10-40kg (per set of three feet).
